Kim Jaeman: Truthfully when Onew first joined us, he had to take on the role of the 30-something year old younger brother but he’s such a young friend and at first I was very anxious. But now as he keeps practicing I see that little by little the age is rubbing off on him. Now there are times when I do see him as being in his 30s. And then when we go to eat he appears like he’s in his 20s.

Onew: That’s a good thing, right?

Kim Jaeman: Yes, it’s good. It’s extremely good!

Lee Jihoon, who is sharing the role with young Onew, honestly speaks about his youthfulness.

Lee Jihoon: I guess I try to live youthfully and take care of my skin. In order to show there has to be a constant effort in order to maintain.

Because the comic musical finds a way to gain popularity every year, it is important to open with sharply organized system of movements matching your partner’s movements. The role of Sukbong is double casted with Hong Rokgi who was unable to participate in practice that day, while Kim Jaeman and the three Jubong’s are busy matching their movements instead.

On this day the actors were focused on practicing the audacious scene where the extremely annoyed brothers are trying to be the first one to find their father’s lotto that is hidden inside his house. The bickering scene whether they were searching in the living room or searching in the kitchen, the actors’ ad libs and Director Jang Yoojung make a more comical and better scene. Comparing among the musical actors, Lee Jihoon’s natural acting and Onew’s distinctive acting, Kim Jaeman’s sly, comical and Jay’s subtle, deep emotions, the atmosphere in the rehearsal room was shifted between a burst of laughter and seriousness.

Recently receiving recognition for the production for “Legally Blonde,” Jang Yoojung, the director’s orders for the actors are perceptive. With a pretty boy image and able to compel the noona fans, SHINee’s leader Onew is engaged at practice in between the “Brothers Were Brave” actor sunbaes. As the elite younger sibling in this play, to match the role of Jubong he obeys all the directions given to him by the other actors and Director Jang Yoojung. Even though he is the youngest at his first musical practice, he is not shy, always has a bright smile and even demonstrates his wit, this young man has a fire of anticipation for his first musical, more than concern, that cannot be put out.

It’s your first musical experience. How do you feel?

Ever since I was young I was curious about considering musicals.

When I made the musical casting, I really thought a lot about what I could show.

The fans are expecting and constantly expecting, I feel like I can show every little thing that couldn’t show until now. It feels good~

What is the effect on the SHINee members since you’re doing this musical?

They’re doing well, I guess (laugh)

Did you receive advice from Jessica, Yesung and Sungmin who appeared in musicals before?

Sungmin sunbae told me that delivering the lines was important. So that the seats from all the way in the back could hear. I heard that Jessica sunbae recommended me. She told me that if I had fun with it that it would help a lot. The other sunbaes still couldn’t meet me.

In practice you seem to be fully engaged. Though it must not be easy, while acting is there a very important part?

Though my personality can’t snap (get angry), Jubong’s role is really cool and a personality that snaps.

On that note, as I’ve been trying to get it right, lately I’ve been correcting my pronunciation point by point and really making an effort.I used to slur my pronunciation a lot, now I feel like I’ve got the hang of it. As I practice I’ve become Jubong in many ways.

This is different than practicing as an artist, right?
First of all, I guess the movements are much alike. Because it’s promised to give points here, there are a lot of these as I get in sync along with the actors, though it’s difficult to adjust parts, it’s fun.

There are a lot of actors that you practice with. Who is the actor with the most charismatic feel?
Whether it’s because of their character I don’t know, but I think Lee Jihoon sunbae is like that. In the play he is impassive and is probably that way because he has acted cool so many times. Since being accepted I’ve learned a lot from him and it he really does give off the feeling of a teacher. (laugh)

Though this is your first musical challenge, it seems like there are other thing you want to do.
Ummm..I want to be a radio DJ, and I want to try and get a chance as an actor. But for now as a singer I’ll show a charming image on stage like Choi Sun-il. To the fans that are anticipating me I always thank and from now on if you cheer for me I would like it very much.

● You debuted on May and it's already your 2nd year. Being the oldest from the group, What do you think of SHINee recently?

Onew: I think we are accustomed in many different ways. When we are going to do something before, we're always shaking because we feel nervous. Of course it doesn't mean that we are not nervous now, But we feel more comfortable when were going up on stage and have eye-contact with our fans, Since then we are having so much fun.

● Do you often have eye-contact with your fans?

Onew: Yes of course

● So during the time, do you stare at the fans eyes steadily?

No, not really. Especially I don't think to make myself cool. I want to show my true-self. Frankly, I doesn't have the element to make fun.

● I see. You wrote the lyrics for "Juliette" before. It was really a passionate lyrics. Did you ever experienced that

kind of love?

I didn't...But I want to experience it. Romeo and Juliette were in love for several days right? they show their love through their risk of their lives, I want to experience that kind of love once in a lifetime....But I don't want to die (laugh)

● Besides music, What is Jonghyun-kun interested in?

Exercise. To keep myself in good care. If I don't have stamina, I can't do anything so health is really important...I realized this last year.

● What kind of exercise?

Generally I do push-ups, carry light dumbbells. If i have time, I'm thinking of going to a gym.

● How about Soccer or baseball?

I don't like sports that has rules and confrontation...Instead of that I prefer to make my body in good stamina.

● You're a pacifist

I think so. I'm not interested of deciding a game.

● Besides going to the gym if you have time, what other things would you like to do?

I think practicing piano. I was in a band during my high school days so I want to play the bass once again. I also want to get a driving license.

● What is your recent favorite CD?

Maxwell"s "Unplugged". I also listen to maroon 5.

Minho is appearing at "Dream Team" which is a physical game variety show so please take good care of yourself and don't make yourself injure!

Onew: As SHINee’s leader Onew I came to participate in a musical for the first time. I think that the sunbaes have shown many good examples I should follow. What I first thought from the beginning is that the musical would be very difficult. Not many people have done musicals so I thought that there would be something a bit different about them, but there really is a very natural feel.

Kim Jaeman: I think that our Onew is in the process of working out and building up his body. I slightly felt his arm before, not that I touched him deliberately, but I slightly him slightly when I brushed past him, and he is really tremendous.

Overnight queuing

Not wanting to miss this opportunity to the showcase, fans started queuing outside IMM on Friday night and waited until 9am on Saturday to purchase SHINee's album which comes along with the showcase ticket. 3000 copies of albums that are worth $65 each were sold out on Saturday. After attending the "Singapore Entertainment Awards" celebration party on the previous night, fans rushed down to IMM and queued overnight for the second time in order to get to the front row to get closer to their idols.

Fans waited for a long time and although it started to rain heavily before SHINee arrive, they were still very enthusiastic throughout the whole showcase. Under the screams of all the fans, SHINee finally made their appearance with the help of umbrellas held by the staff. Everyone of them were thankful to the fans who waited under the heavy rain. Leader Onew also mentioned that they were all very happy to receive the Asia New Generation Award in Singapore.

SHINee performed 3 songs in total, 'Noona is Pretty', 'Jojo' and 'Ring Ding Dong' . All the fans enjoyed their performance and the atmosphere was very overwhelming.

Fans also specially sang a birthday song in korean for Jonghyun whose birthday falls on 8th of April. At first SHINee were confused when they heard the birthday song but after clarifying, the birthday boy then began smiling.

The showcase ended after 30 minutes, SHINee then rushed back to the hotel they are staying in to visit a disabled Korean fan who is permanently living here in Singapore. According to news, the Korean fan likes Minho the most among the members, she appeared to be very shy in front of her idols and is very thankful to SHINee for visiting her.

Five boys revealing each others' secrets

Yesterday, during the Q & A session, SHINee showed the adorable side of them and revealed each member's secret.

The MC asked questions regarding about the 5 members and they will answer after Leader Onew shouts "1, 2, 3", showing a very adorable side of them.

Among SHINee, the person that is most.....

- popular among the female fans are Minho and Jonghyun

Minho feels that his eyes are the most captivating and Jonghyun said that his voice is the most charming

- frequently looking at the mirror is Key

When being asked the number of times he looked into the mirror in a day, he laughed and said: "Countless times."

- easily falling asleep when traveling is Onew

Feeling guilty, he closed his eyes and randomly point at the members while the rest of the 4 members said it's Onew in unison.

- tidy is Minho

He said proudly: "I am the most tidy and meticulous"

- able to take spicy food is Jonghyun

He mentioned that he tried before the local chilli crabs, "It's not spicy at all"

- able to act cute is Minho and Jonghyun

Both of them pointed at each other, the MC then request them to display their cuteness together. Jonghyun then constantly pat on Minho's butt and asked him to show an example. In the end, under the screams of all the fans, both of them showed their cute poses causing all the fans to go crazy.
